ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, MIT ASIMOV
Under minimal supervision, establish and manage complex commercial partnerships with senior executives at a variety of content and product partner organizations as well as customers. Lead execution of MIT Asimov’s content licensing strategy. Independently establish relationships with senior (SVP and VP level) HR and business unit leaders at Fortune 500 companies, develop those relationships into prospective business opportunities, and support prospects through a multi-stakeholder buying process for the MIT Asimov product. Interface with all major business functions within the MIT Asimov initiative including marketing, sales, customer success and product development.
- Establish the partnership and business development function and be responsible for all partnerships and business development activities for the MIT Asimov initiative. Of primary importance are partnership relationships with a wide variety of content providers as well as product organizations (ex. Learning Management Systems, Learning Experience Platforms, Learning Record Platforms). Responsibilities include identifying potential partners; building meaningful relationships; structuring and finalizing commercial contracts; managing the ongoing relations from personnel, value delivery and financial perspectives; and serving as the primary point of contact for all partnerships for MIT Asimov.
- Help establish and manage a set of co-development partnerships with prospective customers to inform MIT Asimov’s ongoing product roadmap and to test specific product features, marketing messages and sales approaches.
- Independently identify new prospects and business opportunities, perform outreach, generate and manage a B2B pipeline, establish contracts with new customers. MIT Asimov’s primary customers will be senior executives (SVP, VP, General Manager) of HR or business units at Fortune 500 companies.
- Participate as an active member of the MIT Asimov “executive team” including close involvement in all cross-initiative decisions, budgeting and planning tasks.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study.
Experience: A minimum of seven years of relevant experience or equivalent.
Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Proven ability to initiate and develop strong professional relationships with senior business leaders. Proven ability to identify, create and win new business opportunities with senior business leaders at large corporations. Proven ability to negotiate and close partnership contracts. Proven ability to work independently in an unstructured environment.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Preferred education: Advanced degree (MS or MBA) or equivalent.
Preferred experience: Nine years of relevant experience or equivalent.
One year temporary position, renewable on an annual basis
