Saif Rayyan leads the Physics department's efforts in digital learning, working closely with faculty to innovate education at MIT using digital technology. In addition to creating MOOCs on the edX platform, Saif designs and implements digital learning solutions and blended learning experiences for MIT students. Prior his current position, Saif worked with the RELATE physics education research group at MIT as a postdoc, where he learned to integrate research based content and pedagogy in digital learning practices, and acquired a data-driven approach to innovation in education. Saif was awarded the Physics Department Buechner Faculty Teaching Prize in recognition for his contributions to improving both online and on campus education at MIT. Saif holds a BSc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Jordan, and a PhD in theoretical particle physics from Virginia Tech.
