Enterprise Authorization at MIT, the Roles System
Rob Campanella, of the Identity & Access Management team, will present a high level overview/introduction to enterprise authorization. Starting with the basics, such as “what is an authorization”, he will explain the 3 parts of an authorization, the advantages of a distributed authorization system, the roles of Primary Authorizers, and some more advanced features of Roles such as implied authorizations and parent/child functions, the APIs that exist, and more. Scott Thorne, an MIT Enterprise Architect will be on hand to answer questions about the software architecture of Roles and some of the design decisions that shaped it. There will be plenty of time for Q & A following the presentation.
