A day of learning with national thought-leaders, MIT innovators, an interactive Learning Expo, food, fun, and more. Experience the catalyzing power behind initiatives which transform the way we look at education and revolutionize how we teach and learn.

This is a free event for MIT faculty, students, and staff. Registration is required.

  • 9:30-10:00 (10-250 Lobby) Continental breakfast.
  • 10:00-11:15 (10-250) Keynote address: Physicist, Nobel Laureate, and Science Educator Carl Wieman on "A New Approach to Teaching and Learning in Undergraduate Science and Engineering"

  • 11:15-12:30 (10-250) Lightning Round session featuring MIT faculty speaking on innovations in their teaching, education initiatives, and on their work with digital tools.:
    • Anette "Peko" Hosoi, Associate Dean, School of Engineering
    • Shigeru Miyagawa, Professor of Linguistics and Global Studies and Languages 
    • Jeff Grossman, Professor of Materials Science & Engineering

  • 12:30-2:30 (Lobby 10 & Lobby 13) Learning Expo highlighting educational initiatives and projects. Lunch provided.

  • 2:30-3:30 (32-123) Keynote address: MIT Professor of Mechanical Engineering and FIRST Robotics Competition, Woodie Flowers, on "Nerd Epistemology"  

  • 3:30-4:30 (32-123) closing reception.
