Enrollment in MITx MOOCs: Are We Educating Educators?

Participants in massive open online courses (MOOCs) come from a diverse set of backgrounds and act with a wide range of intentions.1 Interestingly, our surveys of 11 MITx courses on edX in spring 2014 show that teachers (versus traditional college students) make up a significant fraction of MITx MOOC participants.
