Want to help students learn through improved assessments? Learn from colleagues at MIT who leverage assessment in ways that better engage students while also boosting student learning outcomes. 

  • Laura Frawley will share how and why students are asked to create concept maps as part of course assessments in 9.01 and 9.00. Laura is a Senior Lecturer in Brain and Cognitive Sciences.
  • Jonathan Bloom will discuss the use of MITx and pset checkers to enable active learning in the 18.05 classroom. Jonathan is a Senior Lecturer in Mathematics and the Experimental Study Group.
  • Andreas Karatsolis will share how both peers and the instructor assess and support students in developing oral communication skills in 21W.015. Andreas is a Senior Lecturer and the Director of Writing, Rhetoric, and Professional Communication in Comparative Media Studies/Writing.
