Cyberattacks are a constantly evolving threat capable of inflicting large-scale disruption and destruction. One way to defend against such attacks is to be proactive, rather than reactive, with security. MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab research scientist Erik Hemberg will join us to discuss the development of autonomous cyber defenses that are anticipatory and adapt to counter attacks. These are algorithms that must learn when, where, and how to find gaps in an organization’s security. But cyber adversaries are persistent and continue to design new ways to penetrate defenses, making the algorithms’ task more complex. After the talk, Erik will take questions from the audience.
