Fireside Chat | Sustainability and Aerospace: Planes, Performance, and People
The aerospace industry is under the spotlight in the global effort to reduce carbon emissions, due to the accelerating growth of CO2 emissions attributable to commercial aviation and the limited options for decarbonization compared with other modes of travel. Aerospace research engineer Dr. Wendy Okolo will join MIT horizon to discuss her experience in developing novel flight control mechanisms to increase fuel savings for long formation flights. Dr. Okolo is an advocate for diversity in STEM fields, and will also discuss the link between DEI and sustainable workforce development.
