In past decades, behavioral scientists have developed an abundance of effective nudges for promoting prosocial behaviors. MIT Sloan Research Scientist Erez Yoeli will join MIT Horizon to discuss these nudges, focusing on three categories that amp up people's desire to do good by engaging their underlying concerns about reputation: increasing observability, eliminating plausible excuses, and communicating expectations. Yoeli will also discuss opportunities to use tech to deploy these nudges in ways that were not possible before. After the talk, Yoeli will take questions from the audience.
