Want students to share their perspectives on course concepts?

Learn how two educators using two different approaches—Plickers and workshops—engage students in conversation and challenge them to deepen their knowledge.

  • Nancy L. Rose will share how she uses Plickers to facilitate thoughtful in-class discussions in 14.20. Nancy is Charles P. Kindleberger Professor of Applied Economics and MacVicar Faculty Fellow at MIT, and a Visiting Scholar at Harvard Kennedy School.
  • Janis Melvold, linguist and Lecturer II in Comparative Media Studies/Writing at MIT, will describe the techniques that actively engage students in workshop-style sessions of 24.900, a CI-H course.

Attendees are welcome to participate in Q&A, and share their experience.
