In surgery, some of the biggest risks to patients arise with invasive procedures and large incisions, but intersecting emerging technologies are starting to change how surgery is performed. Adam Sachs, CEO of Vicarious Surgical, will join MIT Horizon to discuss his company’s newly developed robotic system that uses virtual reality technology to transport a surgeon inside a patient, where they control a minimally invasive miniature robot. This reimagining of surgery is designed to improve patient outcomes, with less pain and shorter recovery times. After the presentation, Adam will take questions from the audience.
