Blockchains are more than cryptocurrencies, but as Bitcoin, NFTs, and other crypto assets continue to make headlines, it’s increasingly difficult to draw clear distinctions between cryptocurrencies and the underlying blockchain technology that enables them. How does a blockchain that’s unrelated to crypto work, and where does crypto hype end and blockchain technology begin? MIT Horizon Senior Editor Erik Sofge will address these questions and more. He will discuss how Horizon’s editorial team separates the high-profile financial products that dominate media coverage of blockchain technology from the blockchain applications in development that are often more relevant to organizations. After the talk, Erik will take questions from the audience.
