Bringing MIT’s teaching to the world
At MIT Open Learning, we believe education should transcend borders, inspire communities, and unlock potential everywhere. Guided by MIT’s motto of "mens et manus" — or “mind and hand” — we’ve been reimagining learning to meet the needs of a rapidly changing world for over 25 years.
Now, we’re on a mission to educate 1 billion learners. We bring MIT’s teaching beyond campus into the hands of learners across the world through MIT Learn, a hub for the Institute's growing collection of non-degree learning experiences. MIT Learn has something for everyone: supplemental study materials for middle schoolers, high schoolers, and college students; upskilling opportunities for early-career professionals; reskilling programs for those considering a career shift; resources for educators; and programs for companies and government agencies looking to train their workforce.
On the MIT Learn platform, learners can personalize their learning experience. The AskTIM AI assistant helps them quickly discover offerings aligned with their goals and, in select offerings, summarizes lectures, reinforces key concepts, and guides learners through homework and quizzes. This is only the beginning. We’re building personalized learning for a global community of learners, powered by AI and led by MIT.
