Ready to learn like never before?
Learning at MIT has always been about opening doors. With the launch of MIT Learn, those doors are now wider than ever.
MIT Learn offers learners around the world a gateway to more than 12,700 MIT educational resources — from introductory and advanced courses to upskilling and reskilling programs to materials for educators. Learners can also engage directly with the platform’s AI features through the AskTIM chatbot.
MIT Learn reimagines the learning journey with AI tools.
With AskTIM, learners can go beyond search to conversation.
For example, someone interested in molecular biology might ask, “Which courses offer certificates?” and instantly receive a curated list. They can then follow up with questions like prerequisites, expectations, or key takeaways, receiving immediate, detailed guidance to shape their learning journey. AskTIM is not only enabling learners to quickly discover offerings aligned with their goals but also helping them make more informed decisions before enrolling.
MIT Learn offers personalized learning with AskTIM.
In addition to helping with course selection, AskTIM stays with learners throughout their studies in select offerings, such as Molecular Biology: DNA Replication and Repair, Genetics: The Fundamentals, and Cell Biology: Transport and Signaling. The chatbot summarizes lectures, reinforces key concepts with flashcards, and guides learners through concepts, homework, and quizzes, offering the right nudge toward the next step without giving away the answers.
Madiha Malikzada, a learner in the MIT Emerging Talent Certificate in Computer and Data Science at MIT Open Learning, turned to AskTIM for help while completing a module about artificial intelligence.
“I often found myself asking [Ask]TIM lots of questions about the lecture and the parts I didn’t fully understand, so it could simplify things and help me get the concepts better,” Malikzada says. “It really challenged me to think more deeply and engage with the material in a more meaningful way.”
Malikzada adds, “It helped me understand the concepts and interact with them in a more active, hands-on way.”
MIT Learn customizes the learning journey.
By creating a free account, learners receive personalized course recommendations, can compile and curate lists of educational resources, follow areas of interest, and get notified when new MIT content is available. They can also choose the learning format — including online, hybrid, in-person, and offline — that is best suited to them.
Designed to be accessible, interactive, and adaptable, MIT Learn supports learners at every stage of their lives, from young students to professionals to educators to lifelong learners. Spearheaded by MIT Open Learning, 98% of the platform’s resources are available for free regardless of learners’ institutional affiliations or geographic locations.
MIT Learn was developed with the direction of former MIT Provost Cynthia Barnhart and in cooperation with MIT Sloan Executive Education and MIT Professional Education.
