The Festival was a day of learning with national thought-leader Carl Weiman speaking on active learning and urging students to take control of their own education. The faculty lightning panel featured 5 eminent MIT instructors. An interactive Learning Expo of over 25 MIT innovators, instructors, students, and researchers featured hands-on educational activities. MIT professor Woody Flowers ended the Festival with a keynote that tied ethics and education to science and technology. Read more about the Festival in this MIT News article.

  • 10:00-11:15 (10-250) Keynote address: Physicist, Nobel Laureate, and Science Educator Carl Wiemanon "A New Approach to Teaching and Learning in Undergraduate Science and Engineering". (videoabstract | slides | student reflection).
  • 11:15-12:30 (10-250) Lightning Round session featuring MIT faculty speaking on innovations in their teaching, education initiatives, and on their work with digital tools:

  • 3:30-4:30 (32-123) closing reception.
